The Diploma in Performing Arts (Vocal Hindustani Music) offers intensive training in the rich tradition of Indian Classical Music, combining practical performance skills with theoretical and cultural studies. Designed for aspiring vocalists and music educators, the programme develops proficiency in raga, tala, voice culture, improvisation, stage performance, musicology and pedagogy. Entry Requirements
- 1. General Entry Requirements:
(a) Minimum of three (3) credits with at least a “Pass” grade in the English Language at one sitting at the School Certificate or General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level
and
(b) Passes in at least two (2) subjects at Principal Level at the Higher School Certificate (HSC) or General Certificate of Education Advanced Level.
and
2. Programme Specific Requirements:
(c) A Certificate in Performing Arts (Vocal Hindustani Music) from the Mahatma Gandhi Institute or a recognized institution.
OR
Equivalent qualifications acceptable to the Mahatma Gandhi Institute.
