The objectives of this programme are to, firstly, enable the students to develop a sound mastery of image production using traditional mediums (drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking), as well as in conjunction with new media (digital photography, video, etc). Secondly, critical thinking andenable students to:
Develop a critical mind and independent learning abilitiesy, are developed in conjunction with proper (visual) enhance communication skillss, , teamwork, management and leadership skills essential in the creative industry sectors. This is complemented with the acquisition of a deep and wide cultural understanding and aesthetic appreciation of art throughout history. Finally, the students are expected to;
Develop an comprehendunderstanding of the responsibilities of artists particularly in terms of ethics and as contributors to the sustainable development objectives.

Requirements
The General Entry Requirements are as follows:
Either
(a) Minimum of three (3) credits with at least a “Pass” grade in the English Language at one sitting at the School Certificate or General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level; and
(b) Passes in at least two (2) subjects at Principal Level at the Higher School Certificate (HSC) or General Certificate of Education Advanced Level.
The General Entry Requirements are as follows:
(c) At least a Grade D in Art & Design at A level or equivalent qualifications acceptable to the Mahatma Gandhi Institute.
